Just a shameless plug for my work

I think a lot of the time, it has to do with an extremely abnormal personality combined with school life and working pressures.  Many profs I guess assume that students have “all the free time in the world”.  Now let’s do the math

Professors who think students have free time x 5 = poor student.

Note to any academics, you must realise that the word ‘interest’ and ‘field of study’ do not always come in a pair.  We should have a course for “true academics” and one for “normal people”.

Now, Im not ranting because I have a ton of work.  I am free.  I have just been conducting ‘field studies’ of my own.

Now, I dont think that they are BORN evil.  I believe that its a never ending cycle of work and stress that builds a new small evil incarnate.  (Yes I say small, because there are bigger incarnates of evil ‘out there’ in the ‘real world’.  I’ve seen some myself.)

Here is my diagram.  Appropriately labelled fig 1.1

Stage 1:  New Honours Student.  Unknowingly steps into the wrong path of life.  Bless his soul.

Stage 2:  Masters Student.  Has taken the slippery slope, small chance of redemption by escaping to the so-called ‘real world’ (Apparently his world is a figment of the ‘real world’ peoples imagination.  Apparently the ‘real world’ is fierce and cut throat and ‘dog eat dog’.  I seldom see dogs eat dogs.  Plus it would be worrying to know that the ‘real world’ is controlled by dogs.)  Note the unkept hair and overgrown beard due to lack of concern of hygene.  This is an accumulation of pain and suffering from stage 1.

Stage 3: Potential Doctorate Student.  Has gone completely mad.  Suddenly enjoys reading academic journals (despite the fact that half of the writings are filled with pseudo-sciency-make-me-look-smart-words which no human should read.) Note the formation of evil features is in the works.

Stage 4:  Small incarnate of evil.  Enjoys writing stuff filled with pseudo-sciency-make-me-look-smart-words.  Enjoys ‘passing on the joy of education’ to the next batch of students.  Assumes all students loves him so much (despite his fully formed evil features.) that they take ONLY ONE MODULE, thus they have time for meetings (which he decides since he is busy and students are not since they take ONLY ONE MODULE.).  And likes to take students work and pass it off as his own (thereby earning money for free.).

Let’s face it.  As a joke I once read said….

“My sons a doctor, but not the type that helps people.”

You know who you are.  If you post here defending yourself, you’re probably guilty.
